Loved the temple here in Tiruvannamalai! Was well worth a visit... or three. But I've been here almost a week & can't figure out why. Gotta a great $3 room. (Have almost made up for the slightly too expensive Sri Lankan rooms.) There's a few good, not too pricey Western style resturants very close. There's even an honest to goodness health food store. Everything I could want is here. There's even occasionally free but very slow wifi from the neighbors. Even the locals are nice & used to foreigners. But that's the problem... there's a big ashram right here. And try as I have not to be too judgmental, most of the Westerners staying there are... well, freeks. And the locals just talk to me about the "guru" because they think that's why I'm here. I can't handle talking to anyone here for more than 20mins... so it's been lonely. Finally gonna move on. Just can't decide where... so tomorrow gonna play bus stand roulette & get on the first bus headed somewhere I wanna go. Tags: India
