 The beach in Puri is no big deal... really, it's bad... it's a big sewage tank. Literally! So despite being here four days, today was only my second time there & while approaching... thought a birthday party was happening. But no, the guys in the funny, pointy birthday hats... lifeguards! Seriously!
And their form of saving a life... put someone in an inner tube, hold the inner tube & go into the water to about 3ft. If the person is a 'confidant swimmer', the lifeguard will just hold their hand, no inner tube. Baywatch Indian style!
